Happy Thanksgiving addicts! In the spirit of the Indians and the Pilgrims being able to put aside their differences and come together, I have decided to do some editing on the blog tonight.
Don't forget to check out the sales at my favorite digitizers. In addition to Sewing for Sarah, I noticed that Mary is running a sale in her eBay store. Shop 'til you drop!

Check out the new M2MG from Designed Just 4 You!

Mary has done it again! Really adorable M2MG designs are up in her eBay shop and ready for purchase! Remember, you can receive a 5% discount by ordering by email instead of through eBay.

Something POSITIVE....
I am sorry for my earlier rant and it's time to balance it out with something positive! Being a big fan of the Twilight Series, I was so excited that one of my favorite digitizers was willing to do these designs!!! I'm planning a movie night with some of my girlfriends next week and I will be making a couple of T's using these designs:

I forgot to add one more link to some seriously AWESOME embroidery designs. We all know how hard it is to find cute designs for BOYS, but check these out:

Cuties of the Day
While cruising some of my favorite Etsy shops, I stumbled across really cute new appliques from Adorable Appliques. Imagine that! The new Kitty is fun, but I have to admit to being in love with the love birds!
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6288390
Also, Divas Doodles has added two more Little Mermaid characters, Max the Dog and Scuttle the Seagull. CUTE and I know I'll be snapping them up for a future trip!
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5614102
Last but not least, www.StitchonTime.com has one of the cutest Santas I've seen in awhile!

Buzz 2 Stitches - Poor Customer Service?
Well ladies, I don't know about you, but I thought that for the price they charge, Buzz 2 Stitches would be a pretty upstanding company, right? Apparently NOT.
My first experience with Buzz 2 Stitches was when a friend purchased their product, then waited several weeks, through several explanations of "It's going out tomorrow", up until the point that she threatened a chargeback before she actually got her product. I figured it was an isolated incident until today, when this was left on the blog as a comment:
How is this for customer service? A friend wrote the following:
last month I purchased Buzz 2 Stitches from their website. I paid with paypal, noting in the message area that I wanted this program to make embossed designs, and asked if that was possible.
They shipped the program. The day I received it, I played around with it and realized it was not at all what I wanted and that I could not do embossed designs.
I wrote to their customer service people, and they confirmed that it probably wasn't the right program for my needs.
I asked how I go about shipping it back for a refund. In a round about way, they told me to check the website. I did, and it said I had 30 days for a full refund.
I also called their 800 number and left a message that it was coming back and I wanted to confirm that the address on their package is the correct address for returns.
Nobody got back to me.
I sent the package out with delivery confirmation and tracking. That was like 14 bucks.
TODAY -- I got it back, marked REFUSED.
This is war
I just sent them a lovely email
I am wondering if I have any recourse with Paypal. Does anyone know how that works?
I'm pretty appauled at their customer service and support.
Not exactly a ringing endorsement, right???? Embroidery Enabler is a big supporter of Embird. I find their products to be reliable, fairly easy to use once you get involved and widely used and supported. My advice? File for your PayPal dispute, if you're still within your time period to be able to do so. If you're still within your 30 day period to return the software, I'm sure that you're well within your PP timeframe. When you get your money back, go buy Embird. I would suggest getting it from www.SecretsOf.com because they will give you bonus points that you can use to buy designs. Might as well get a little bonus, right? Then spend the little bit of extra money and buy yourself a GOOD tutorial - I highly recommend anything by Carolyn Keeber. Start out with the basic Embird platform and then work up to buying the Studio upgrade. You won't regret it.
Please let us know how this turns out for you. In the meatime, addicts, boycott Buzz 2 Stitches.

Hello Kitty Cheerleader?
Has anyone seen a Hello Kitty Cheerleader? An addict is ISO. Comment me and I'll pass on the info.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Cool New Designs from Cool Digitizers!
Alright all you embroidery addicts, check out what is new on the scene:
From Mary - M2MG Applique Designs. PEOPLE, the line is just now out today. Way to be on top of it Mary! Don't forget, email her at kbarker7@triad.rr.com to request your invoice instead of buying on ebay and she'll give you a 5% discount.
http://cgi.ebay.com/M2M-Winter-Snowflake-Set-Applique-Design-4x4-5x7-Mega_W0QQitemZ200270733576QQihZ010QQcategoryZ146356QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
From Miss Mary Mack - only the cutest Vacation Girl and Boy (also if you're looking for the ORIGINAL pilgrim mouseheads, you'll notice I spelled pilgrim correctly, Carla will be listing them later today. Trust me, I've had them on a CD that she sold me clear back this fall.)
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16531482
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16584679
From TLCsCustom Creations, TONS of cute Holiday Hello Kitty and some real gems for those of you heading to Disney for Christmas:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16616342
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16616405
And my personal favorite HK:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16616239
Also, I saw a cute new design on www.StitchonTime.com today. Check it out - Claire's designs stitch out GREAT and really folks, it is my personal opinion that you are better off to spend your $75 on licensed designs from these great digitizers than to take your chances that you might get something that you will eventually use. GET TO CHOOSE the designs you want? Now that's a novel idea, right???? $75 is a LOT of designs from my favorite digitizers.

Embroidery Enabler Seal of Approval
Don't you think it should be like a seal of excellence? I can totally picture it! I received this question in my comments from a very wise Anonymous embroidery lover:Anonymous said...I am new to embroidery, and just stumbled across this blog. I don't have anything negative to say, however it is always nice to know where to start, or in this case where not to start. With that being said, can you tell me where to start spending my "allowance"?November 2, 2008 3:04 PMWhy of COURSE I can. By no means is this list exclusive. If I haven't listed your favorite digitizer, let me know. Here's some of my personal favorites:
http://www.lynniepinnie.com/
http://www.swakembroidery.com/ (purchase your Band to Bow designs here if you must have them, but beware of stitch quality issues)
http://www.secretsof.com/ (I love My Fair Lady for heirloom embroidery)
http://www.missmarymackdesigns.etsy.com/
http://www.tlcscustomcreations.etsy.com/
http://www.dbembroiderydesigns.etsy.com/
http://www.myglamboutique.com/store/Default.asp
http://www.adorableappliques.etsy.com/
http://stores.ebay.com/Designed-Just-4-You_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZQ2d999QQftidZ2QQtZkm
http://www.lilrascalsdesigns.com/ (for super cute vacation designs)
http://www.digistitches.com/ for really innovative in the hoop projects
http://www.bunnycup.com/
http://www.designsbyjuju.com/
http://www.embroidery-boutique.com/
www.StitchOnTime.com
In case you can't tell - I'm on a bit of an eBay rant too. I avoid them when at all possible because they have made selling so miserable for my favorite sellers! Mary is the only exception and I recommend that you purchase from her by using her email address on her shop's homepage. She'll even sport you a discount!
